Biography
6 years ago, Theresa Vu spit her first rhyme to a Notorious
BIG
instrumental. It was, for lack of a clever euphemism, effin'
terrible.
Motivated by its ghastliness, she honed her craft for half
a decade,
constantly searching for the elusive balance between lyrics
and flow.
A regular at open mics and cyphers, Theresa can usually be
found
performing with Direct at various venues throughout California.
Recently the two have made appearances at a number of conferences,
hip hop functions, and universities. Theresa has made plans
to record
her first album this summer (2004).
Useless Information
- Once slept on the floor so that her new shoes (Adidas ADAN
I's)
could enjoy the safety and comforts of the bed.
- Can code for 52 hours straight with nothing but Red Bull
and peanut M&M's from the vending machine in the computer
lab.

Performance
Biography:
Born and raised in the Los Angeles area, Derek learned his
first
musical instrument, piano, at the age of 5. Playing for about
5
years, his interest moved towards the drums and he began taking
lessons when he was 10 years old. It was in junior high school
when
Derek's percussion background led him to the world of hip
hop and r&b.
He started to rap and mix music as a hobby in ninth grade
until he
got more serious during junior year, which is the first time
Derek
performed one of his creations in front of a crowd that consisted
of
five thousand teenagers. For another solid year, he continued
to
perform and in twelfth grade at the age of 18, the self-writing
and
self-producing rapping duo, All Real, was formed.
All Real has since then broken up and Direct is currently
in some group called Magnetic
North (maybe you've heard of them?).
Hobbies:
Magnetic North, listening to music, performing, playing the
piano, spending time with family and friends, watching and
collecting anime, dancing, playing pool/ping pong/tennis,
playing Dance Dance Revolution/Mario Kart 64/Smash Brothers,
watching Friends/Charmed/Sex And The City, sleeping, staying
up late hours ("7-8am late") doing whatever like
talking on AIM =)
